Explore and Introduce Banda Aceh and Sabang to Taiwanese Friends

In winter vacations, most of ICA member go back to our hometown and enjoy the vacations. At the same time, several friends from Taiwan also come to Indonesia to enjoy the vacations. On this winter vacations, Rita, Vicky, Marissa & Shierly come to our hometown in Aceh, Indonesia. Therefore we thing that it’s important to accompany them while in Indonesia, and introduce culture and also the tourism attractions.

Perform Aceh Traditional Dance in Taoyuan

Perform Likok Pulo Traditional Dance in Chung Cheng Institute of Technology,Taoyuan

Every year, a group of ‘chung’ university in north part of Taiwan held a meeting and does friendly competition. In 2010, Chung Cheng Institute of Technology in Taoyuan becomes the host of this event. In closing ceremony, each university give the best performance such as dance and music performance. And ICA club associations are trusted to perform Indonesian traditional dance in the closing ceremony. It is an honor for ICA club association to be CHU representation in this event.

We celebrated a very special day in Islam, Idul Adha 1431. It was took place in Taipei Grand Mosque Taipei,

It's our schedule in this activity:

6 am Depart from CHU to Hsinchu train station
6.15 am Take train to Taipei Main Stations.
7 am Take taxi to Grand Mosque in Daan Park, Taipei.
7.30 am Khutbah Idul Adha begind
8.15 am Idul Adha Praying begind
9 am Qurban ceremony
10 am Eat together
12 pm Pray Dhudur
1 pm Back to Hsinchu

Nowadays many of Muslim comes to Taiwan for various purposes such as for do business, study, working, or da’wah. However, many of Taiwanese do not know and don’t really understand what Islam is. Peoples in Taiwan have their own religious and different culture. Taiwan location is quite far from Islamic country, makes this also as reason why Taiwanese hardly know about Islam and their culture.

Aceh Workshop

Aceh Workshop: Study in Taiwan for Sustainable Aceh

There are four objective of this activity:
- To know more about Asia University
- Mapping challenges and opportunities in Aceh
- Discussion about the issues
- Explore Asia University


In this activity we get more information about Asia University, which most of the Acehnese get education in Taiwan. Here, Dr. Han C.W.Hsiao welcomes all the participants and gives explanation about Asia University. Guest from Indonesia also give their presentation and share their knowledge and latest issue related their field. After that, all participants were separated in to several groups and then they have to discuss and presented the issues. At the end of activity, we explore Asia University and get explanation about the future development of the campus.

Taichung River Tour

Taichung River Tour

There are four objective of this activity:
- To know more about NGO in Taiwan and Indonesia
- Learning history of Wufeng
- Visit 921 Earthquake Museum of Taiwan
- Explore Wu River, Attabu Irrigation System

In this activity we learn about Wufeng history and also about Irrigation system around Wu River. We used bus to see the irrigation system, and Prof Shu Liao always gives very good explanation about the irrigation system. After that we visit a school, which is historic building related to very big scale earthquake in Taiwan. This school then called as 921 Earthquake museums, and left as the key witness about what happened on that day.

Perform Likok Pulo Traditional Dance in The First Annual Indonesian Scholars Conference in Taiwan (AISCT) 2010.

AISCT is an annual conference held by Indonesian Muslim Students Forum in Taiwan (Formmit). Agus Andria, as the President of this organization, also one of the initiator this conference. The main purpose of this event is to present technological advances and result of latest research in multidiscipline areas in an international forum for Indonesian scholars.
