Trip to Alishan Mountain

On 16^th March 2013, ICA member joint the trip to Alishan mountain. International Office of Chung Hua University (CHU) organized this activity. We went from CHU by charter bus and the trip took around 4 hours. After arrived in Alishan mountain, we separate in to several groups. Some took mountain forest railway to go to the peak of the mountain and others by did hiking to reach the top of the mountain. Most of visitor come to see sunrise from the top of mountain. There are several destination for tourist attraction in Alishan mountain, such as the Jushan, Giant trees trail, Shoujhen temple, and two sisters pond. Eventhough a little tired, but we get great experience about the trip.

BBQ ICA-MINT

On 9th December 2012, ICA and MINT held an activity in CHU. In the BBQ activity, we serve many kind of food from Jordan and Indonesia such as kebab, sate, and tempe. We prepared the food since the morning and serve it in the afternoon in BBQ area inside the school. In the activity, we also perform Jordan traditional dance. In the dance, all male dancer stand nearby and also move around the circle. The dance is quite simple, but sometimes it was difficult to follow. We enjoy the activity and have fun together. 

BBQ ICA-MINT

ICA and MINT (CHU International volunteer) is just like brother and sister. Sometimes we held collaboration activity either in school or outside the school. On 7th August 2012, we held a BBQ activity in CHU school. Brothers and sisters from Muslim Student Club in Hsinchu (MSC) also attend this activity. MSC is a Muslim club in National Chiao Tung University (NCTU), Hsinchu. We served many kinds of food from Jordan, Indonesia and Taiwan. The activity held in Ramadhan, so Muslim brothers and sisters also did many activity such as pray Isya and Tarawih, and also discussion about Islam, etc.

CHU Club Exhibition

14th May 2012 is the exhibition day for all of club in CHU. In this activity, we must show our creativity and clubs activities. Many things are assessed by judge from school, such as the club meeting, financial report, and information about the activity through internet. Several teachers from school will give score for all clubs. We try our best to get the highest scores and get the same price as last year. However, after announcement we lost and get the third place for this year. But thats ok, because next year we will give better performance and get number one. Ciao!!

ICA meeting

On 14th May 2012, all club in CHU will show their activity to school and public. This is an annual activity to assess the performance of each club about their activity. So, on 12th May 2012, all ICA members gathered and prepared everything about the club. We prepared our meeting agenda, pictures, brochure, attendance list, etc in order to achieve full scored from the school. Last year, we get number one from CHU for the club in the same categories. Then, we hope that this year we can get the same.

Hsinchu is one of big city in Taiwan and popular with collection of building for research and high tech company called as Scince park. However most of the people don’t know one the bad impact of Hsinchu science park area for human and nature.

On April 30th 2011, ICA club association, International volunteer group and Bamboo community make a research to see the impact of this issue. We followed one of the rivers in Hsinchu city, called as Ke-ya river. We tried to observe the physical changes along the river, from upstream to downstream of the river. 

Radio Broadcasting Training

The Hands‐on Radio Broadcasting activity in CHU was held by Formmit, an Indonesian Muslim Students Forum in Taiwan. This event also collaboration program between Formmit and RRI, where the participants get more knowledge about how to manage and work in a radio stations. Then the participants also taught how to make money from radio business, also how to use latest technology to improve the work in radio stations. At the end of the activity, participants was trained how to be a good presenter and how to be a good reporter. Then one of participants was choose by moderator and get task to present an issue.

Every year, a group of ‘chung’ university in north part of Taiwan held a meeting and does friendly competition. In 2010, Chung Cheng Institute of Technology in Taoyuan becomes the host of this event. In closing ceremony, each university give the best performance such as dance and music performance. And ICA club associations are trusted to perform Indonesian traditional dance in the closing ceremony. It is an honor for ICA club association to be CHU representation in this event.

Nowadays many of Muslim comes to Taiwan for various purposes such as for do business, study, working, or da’wah. However, many of Taiwanese do not know and don’t really understand what Islam is. Peoples in Taiwan have their own religious and different culture. Taiwan location is quite far from Islamic country, makes this also as reason why Taiwanese hardly know about Islam and their culture.

Mothers Day

Mothers Day Anniversary and Sent Letter for Mama and Family

Mothers day is celebrated on various day around the world. In Taiwan, this event will celebrated on second Sunday of May, but in Indonesia is celebrated nationally on 22nd December. On 3rd May 2010, we were getting an opportunity to celebrate Mothers day in CHU and also get a chance to send free of charge letter to everywhere. After sending the letter, we asked to say ‘happy mother’s day’ in Indonesian language.

The 6th January 2010 is most important date and the official date for ICA club association established in CHU. The inauguration ceremony of ICA club association was attended by Prof Chang‐Huang Gou, Dean of Students Affair CHU and also Mrs. Silvia from student activity office.
